The AFI DALLAS International Film Festival presented by Target, founding sponsor Victory Park, announces its 2007 award winners.

Target Filmmaker Award ($25,000) in Narrative Feature Competition: SHUT UP AND SHOOT ME (encore April 1, 6:00pm, Magnolia)
Target Filmmaker Award ($25,000) in International Documentary Competition: NEW YEAR BABY (encore April 1, 7:00pm, Angelika)
Best HD Feature presented by HDNet: SHARKWATER

Audience Awards:

Audience Award for Narrative Feature: MUSIC WITHIN (encore April 1, 4:00pm, Magnolia)

"Man, I was sure glad they moved the red carpet inside last night (Friday) - otherwise we might have ended up with a slew of sopping wet celebrities, along with photographers shooting from inside of plastic trash bags to keep their expensive photo gear dry."

"AFI DALLAS proved to be a triumph of public relations: For the past month, I couldn't drive to work without encountering a large billboard for the festival at University Drive and I-30. In Dallas, billboards and posters have been ubiquitous since January. Festival organizers also did a great job of enticing the local media, which treated the opening-night event as if it were the Cannes Film Festival and the Oscars combined."
